If you're a lover of books AND chocolate, then I recommend this book: Discover Chocolate - The Ultimate Guide to Buying, Tasting, and Enjoying Fine Chocolate by Clay Gordon. It was an indulgent read (he he.) But I learned a great deal, which in turn could only enhance my monthly cravings for all things chocolate.
This book delves into a great amount of detail, including the making of chocolate and the difference between chocolates. (Like, I don't eat the generic Easter stuff, it tastes like sweet plastic. But I have yet to endure the strong stuff, like the chocolate with 85% cocoa, pictured above.)
Reading this book will teach you the finer points of chocolate enjoyment. And since I'm a nut about what's on the net, I had to go to the author's site.
The Chocolate Life is a network of "chocophiles" in love with all aspects of chocolate. Wow. Now that's paying some serious homage to chocolate!

oooh. love Chocolate Life. not gonna lie-i must have my chocolate and get cranky if i don't. There's always chocolate chips in the fridge and yes if necessary, I will sneak a few morsels out. Hey-desperate times calls for desperate measures. This book sounds fab-sounds like I could find my inner chocolate chi.
I am not a huge chocolate eater but, I totally get what you saying about cheap chocolate tasting funny! I used to hate those easter bunnies my family gave me that were huge and solid chocolate...lol. They always tasted weird to me;0 hehe.
I have eaten dark chocolate for so long that now all other chocolate taste too sweet.
Cheap chocolate is GROSS. I insist every year that the eggs the kids get are Hershey's. You're right--everything else is just plastic!
I SO love chocolate! As far as brands go I'm all about compromise. I don't like the Easter bunny stuff or the really fancy (low sugar) stuff either. My favorite is Dove Promises, milk chocolate! Mmmm!
My ultimate chocolate indulgence is Harry & David's Dark Chocolate Truffles. Yummm! :-9
quality is always better than quantity~ i'd say!
Adore good chocolates!
Would you believe I have bought/made 2 things from your posts this week? The potato, bacon, ham chowder - and bought nutella (for the very first time!) and had it on Ritz. Both were SSOOO good. I loved the chowder/soup. It's funny, my daughter saw a commercial for Nutella, and said she wanted to try it. Then I showed her your post, and then she asked me to please get it at the store. She has ate the most of it!
Oh Kristy! That's so encouraging! Wait till I post about our latest creation-made out of leftover ingredients and our desire for chocolate!!
Oooh, do they discuss dark chocolate? Because that's MY absolute favorite thing that I can NEVER say no to. :)
Blessings,
