Husband and I watch a ton of movies (DVDs, that is) and I recently heard a lot about the new Matt Damon film called "Contagion" which hits theaters today.
I'm not a germaphobe, well just a little, but I'm amazed at the star power in this film! Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, just to name a few...
This morning on the radio, someone who was reviewing the movie said it's definitely not for kids under 13. The main reason being that young children could believe that this pandemic could happen (and who says it couldn't) and then freak out when the kid next to them in class sneezes. Gee whiz.
I guess the reason for all the media hoopla is that this movie, according to the New Yorker, "evokes memories of the bafflement and the sense of outrage and helplessness that greeted the H.I.V. and Ebola viruses, in the nineteen-eighties, and the swine-flu scare a few years back."
So is this your form of entertainment, or will you pass it up? I'll let you know in about six months when "Contagion" is out on DVD!

My mom and I are going on Sunday to see it.
I dont think I want to see it. It drives me nuts that movies like this are made. I know that it could happen, just like the plague or something, but it seems like people try to put the fear in us and get us worked up on things...as if we dont have enough to think about! haha.
Just like that movie 2012. My 17 year old niece watched it and shes convinced that shes not going to see her 18th birthday!
I'll pass. I don't really love stressful movies and I think that one will qualify....
I pass. I'd rather see a romantic comedy.
Or six year olds playing soccer. :-)
It's definitely on our list of "want to see" movies & may see it this weekend. It's either that one or "Debt" but don't know which one yet.
Sorry I haven't checked on your blog in awhile, did you move? We just moved about three weeks ago. I don't ever want to move again! Hope your move was because you wanted to & was a positive thing. Ours was & we are very happy.
