Guilty Pleasures

I'm an avid reader. Everyone in our family reads. I prefer books to anything online, probably because most of my reading is done at night after everyone is in bed (hence the reading glasses for my tired eyes.)

That's why I never went online to read The Pioneer Woman's (Ree Drummond) blog posts about her real life love story (swoon.) I sit at the computer enough (oh how I wish for a Macbook!) so when I heard that the book was coming out, I was very excited! I don't know what chapter I'm on, but I'm hooked already.

Reading anything is a guilty pleasure for me so I get all my books at our local library for free. At least the guilt has nothing to do with the cost. Anyone else reading Ree's newest book?

I read it. Stayed up all night to finish it, too. It was fantastic!

Would you believe that I just recently discovered The Pioneer Woman? She did a cooking segment on The Today Show. I really would love to read her book! Happy Reading!

I haven't read her book, but of course as a blogger I have heard a lot about her! I've also tried one of her recipes and it was really yummy.

I keep hearing about Pioneer Woman - part of me wants to read the other part wants to stay far away. Question... why is it a guilty pleasure? Sounds to me like you enjoy it, you aren't reading trash, you are immersed in something that makes you think and you don't have commercial interruptions - I think every Mommy deserves down time and you are choosing wisely! good for you. No guilt! xo

I'm not familiar with the book! Guess I'm not in the loop yet. But I'll certainly look into it. Sounds fabulous!

Oh, I just meant that reading when the family is awake would make me feel guilty! There are so many other needs to attend to...but when the kids are asleep, then I can use that time to do something just for me. :)

I've heard about Pioneer Woman but I'm honestly not familiar with her. Maybe I'll take a look this weekend!

we love to read too. i love books and the feel of the pages and turning them so i'm not sure if i can get used to reading books on a kindle. i know totally off topic. I sound like a spam comment. LOL. I didn't know Rhee Drummond wrote a book. Is that what they've based her movie on?

I could read constantly! Wish I could just be a stay at home Mom forever - reading all day. Lol! But alas, life isn't like that!
I haven't read her book, or even much of her blog, guess I should check it out!

FYI - last I heard through the blogs, that Reese Witherspoon is interested in playing the Pioneer Woman...we'll see if that's true!
